The Fletch Fund
Fletcher was a dog that first came to Flatiron Veterinary Specialists in dire need for help. His owner hurt him by cutting across his throat, legs, and forehead with a knife. Luckily, the owner’s roommate felt guilty and made the owner bring the dog to our clinic. They relinquished him, claiming that they found the dog this way.
Veterinarians and nurses at FVS could see that this was a special dog. In spite of his multiple wounds and the pain he must have felt, he would wag his tail and give love to anyone who would have it. His wounds were repaired, his pain minimized, and he was comforted with all the affection we could lavish upon him. We named him Fletcher.
When the media reported his story, donations came in and The Fletch Fund was started. Fletch was adopted by a wonderful family, who had just lost their dog to cancer. He now has a great life in a loving home with people that appreciate him. The owner was arrested and prosecuted for felony animal abuse.
The Fletch Fund is used to offset costs for the care of pets less fortunate. If you would like to donate to The Fletch Fund, please call our clinic at 303-772- 9810.
